About the episode

In the words of The Rev. Raphael Warnock, “as Christians, our democratic vote is a prayer for a more just and loving world”. Amen!

In this episode, Bishop Wright has a conversation with special guest US Senator Raphael Warnock. As two Black men that grew up in public housing, in families of faith, and first-generation college graduates, they share how they’ve been formed as spiritual and moral leaders. They discuss our American democracy, Jesus as a non-partisan spiritual leader, gun violence, and the power of love that organizes. Listen in for the full conversation.

The Honorable Reverend Dr. Raphael Gamaliel Warnock serves as the Senior Pastor of the Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church and the junior United States Senator from Georgia. The son of two Pentecostal pastors, Dr. Warnock responded to the call of ministry at a very early age, and at age 35, became the fifth and the youngest person ever called to the senior pastorate of Ebenezer Baptist Church, founded in 1886.

Senator Warnock released his personal memoir, A Way out of No Way, in June of 2022. Senator Warnock is the proud father of one daughter, Chloé, and one son, Caleb.
